The Sekem farm was established in 1984 by Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish who was awarded the alternative Nobel Prize in 2003. The Jury saw in Sekem ‘a business model for the 21st century and an example for the economics of love. Today three cooperatives with 300 farmers are working under the principles of biodynamic as an alternative to the polluting industrial agriculture. The ground breaking social project provides new jobs, school and vocational education, social networks, medical care and soon even a university. From the beginning the integration of disabled children has been part of this programme. Trading products with organic henna from the Sekem farm builds a situation beneficial to everyone.
